Fascial Stretch Therapy
WHAT IS FASCIA?
Fascia is the connective tissue system of the body that penetrates through and wraps around muscles, nerves, organs, and just about everything else in your body.
WHY SHOULD I CONSIDER FASCIAL STRETCH THERAPY?
- Stretches muscle and fascia that surrounds the muscle
- Can improve stress- immediately & significantly reduced after one session
- Can improve sleep quality
- Mobility gains can be greatly improved after one session
With improved mobility your training sessions can be more effective. The best thing about Fascial Stretch Therapy is that it can be customized to your individual needs. Each session is uniquely different depending upon what restrictions are found while stretching your body that day. We can focus on one thing specifically or we can go through the whole body.
BIGGEST QUESTION CLIENTS HAVE→ IS FST PAINFUL?
No! This type of stretching is romancing with the parasympathetic nervous system. The parasympathetic nervous system is one of the divisions of the autonomic nervous system. Also known as our “rest and digest” system. This system helps us relax and conserve our energy. It slows our heart rate and increases the intestinal and gland activity.
SECOND QUESTION→ WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?
While stretching you, I will give you inhale and exhale cues. This will help to center your breathing and slow your nervous system down. It is not uncommon for one to become relaxed or even fall asleep! I am stretching your tissue to the first resistance, also known as R1. This ensures that the stretching will not be painful. You may even think “I could have stretched further than that”... but I am listening to what your tissue is telling me and will not push further than your R1.
